Rideborders.com is a unique, lively new market place for all Borders' equestrian related business.
Established in May 2006 by Carol Carr of Wightman-Carr Communications, Rideborders.com provides a high profile platform for the Borders' equestrian industry. It is also an invaluable and accessible resource for visitors and local people of all ages who are interested and involved with horses.
Carol Carr has a substantial portfolio of equestrian marketing, tourism and broadcasting experience. She worked for BBC Scotland for 15 years and was, for some of this time, responsible for marketing a wide range of television and radio programmes internationally through BBC Worldwide.
Now as a Borders' based horse owner, diversifying farmer's wife and PR consultant, the main focus of her work has been on equestrian related business. The outstanding gate at Thirlestane Castle Scottish Championship Horse Trials 2004 surpassed all expectations when Carol created and supported various marketing initiatives including an interactive new web site plus the introduction of a new 'family fun ring' that broadened the event's appeal. She marketed the Borders Festival of the Horse 2005, which also enjoyed record attendance. She has worked for the BHS dealing with press releases and press launches and also promoted the launch of the South of Scotland Countryside Trails and Tweed Trails attracting substantial national press and media coverage. This has included securing press trips in 2006 for visiting journalists.
Carol is widely travelled having enjoyed and indeed reported on a number of riding holiday experiences in Spain, Morocco and western Canada where valuable observations were made on how other rural equestrian businesses succeeded. Over the years she has built up many local, national and international online, press and media contacts. These plus her diverse and interesting experiences are now of direct relevance and benefit to all who choose RideBorders.com to market their own business and to resolve their particular equestrian queries quickly and easily.
