The Largest Inhabited House In Scotland! The largest inhabited house in Scotland, home to the Duke and Duchess of Roxburghe in the heart of the Scottish Border Countryside. Filmed in the film of Greystoke as the home of Tarzan, the house is full of magnificent tapestries, porcelain and 17th century French furniture and artworks.
At Floors Castle Grounds and Gardens, you don't just visit it you experience it!
The traditional Walled Gardens open year round, are brimming with colourful herbaceous borders, kitchen gardens that supply the Castle, soft fruit cages, glass peach houses, Garden Centre, the Children's Adventure Playground and Terrace Cafe.
The rest of the Grounds and Gardens comprise of the Millennium Parterre, which was designed linking the Duke and Duchess's initials, in the traditional French style. The Star Plantation links the Walled Gardens to the rest of the grounds with winding pathways through a woodland of wild flowers and rare azaleas and rhododendrons.
The Woodland and Riverside Walk overlooks the River Tweed and there are some fascinating examples of native trees, mature oaks, lime and sweet chestnut tress that survive the time of Daniel Defoe's visit in the 18th century.
