In aid of Equine Grass Sickness Research

Riders to start between 10.30am and 1.00pm

 

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Equine Grass Sickness Fund we have organised this very special sponsored ride. Over the last 20 years the research is helping us to get closer to a cure for this terrible equine disease and with your help we can keep the research going.

 

This ride is a wonderful opportunity to ride around the picturesque Traquair Forest. Start and parking is Traquair Village (Map Ref 330347 Landranger No 73) and will be signposted locally.

 

Light refreshments will be available.

 

First aid will be in attendance. Vet and farrier on call.

 

For Horse Riders and Cyclists there will be a choice of 2 routes: Runners do the 8 mile loop.

Route A: 20 Miles incorporates the famous Minch Moor, forestry land tracks and farmland.

Route B: 8 Miles of a forestry and farmland loop.

 

There will be prizes for the following in each discipline:

Most sponsorship raised by an individual

Youngest partcipant

Oldest participant

 

Also a Prize for the team (one rider, one runner, one cyclist ) which raises the most sponsorship.

 

Entry fees –

adults: £10 per rider if you can provide an extra £20 minimum in sponsorship or £30 straight fee per rider

12 & under: £10 per rider if you can provide an extra £10 minimum in sponsorship or £20 straight fee per rider

 

Entries must be received by 21 May 2008 – there will be no entries on the day. Please note that entries are strictly limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
