Countryside Consultant Vyv Wood Gee and her 13 year old daughter Elsa will be setting off on a ride of a lifetime on Sunday 18th June in aid of cancer research. Vyv was the development manager for the South of Scotland Countryside Trails which have opened up 350 kms of off-road riding, in the Borders and the Ae Forest. Paving the way for thousands of other riders has set her in good stead for this challenge and with this experience behind her, no-one could be better prepared for the journey that lies ahead. John Smiths and The Royal Bank of Scotland head up the fourth two day Kelso Carnival which is now in full swing.

The Fifth Borders Festival of the Horse is now in full swing with the Borders resounding to the clatter of hooves as all manner of equestrian events take place in numerous different Borders' locations.

Floors Castle International Horse Trials - 20th May - 21st May - within the Festival of the Horse.

Caroline Powell, Ian Stark, Oliver Townend, Tricia Bracegirdle and Nicola Tweedle were among the winners at this weekend's Floors International Horse Trials, which as always attracted numerous entries from near and far.

Three Borders - riders are soon to set off on a 150mile fund raising ride to Yorkshire, as a challenging personal tribute to a much loved friend.

Thank you to everyone who submitted their funny horse stories during May. We can now announce the winner of our first competition.
