Springwood Park, Kelso is the place to be on Friday and Saturday this week where the excellent number of equine entries is sure to draw in large crowds.
With high profile qualifiers for the Horse of the year Show the National Pony Society, National Pony Society Scotland, CHAPS, the Winergy Burghley Young Event Horse and DABBS - it-s a horse lovers paradise.
Friday classes include In-Hand and Ridden Mountain and Moorland Ponies, Working Hunter Ponies, Coloured Horses, Sport Horses, Pony Club Jumping, And the P(UK) Potential Burghley Young Event Horse Qualifier. This is the third year that the Border Union Show has hosted a qualifier for this exciting competition and it's growing in popularity every year.
On Saturday classes are held for Ridden and In-hand Hunters, Riding Horses, Side Saddle and heavy Horses - including turnouts.
In addition to all the above there are of course the traditional agricultural show classes plus over 200 trade stands, many exciting innovations in the Countryside Area, excellent food, drink plus first class entertainment featuring the Royal Artillery Motorcycle Display Team, RAF Falcons Parachute team, pipe bands and the ever popular Heavy Horse Parade.
